You pick a piece, usually a wooden tray, choose a stencil and a palette, and paint. The clean edge comes from the stencil, so what you take home looks deliberate whether or not you have ever painted anything.
It is the fastest route here to something that goes straight onto a table and stays there.

What do I make?
Usually a wooden tray, and sometimes a sign, a box or a smaller decorative piece. The blank is prepared before you arrive so the session is spent on the design rather than on sanding.
Do I choose the stencil?
Yes, from what is on the table on the day, and most people combine two rather than use one straight. Ask in advance for a private group and a theme can be put together for it.
Will the paint bleed under the edge?
That is the thing the technique is about, and it is taught first: the amount of paint on the brush matters more than the hand holding it. A dry brush and a light touch give the clean line.
Do I need any experience?
No. Stencil work is the most forgiving thing on the list for anybody who thinks they cannot paint, because the shape is decided before you pick up a brush.
Can I use the tray for food?
Treat it as decorative or use it with something on it rather than directly. A workshop finish resists a wiped spill, not a wash.
Can I bring my own piece?
Yes, if it is wood, sound and something you can carry. Say what it is when you book, because a varnished or flaking surface needs preparing first.
