A workshop table laid with materials in autumn colours

Seasonal workshops, autumn

The season people actually make things in.

September to November is the busiest part of the year at this table. Pumpkins, harvest colours, and the pieces that go on a mantel and stay there until the ones for December come out.

Same table, same two hours. What changes is what you make on it.

Through the year

What each season is actually good for

Not a calendar. These are the projects that suit the time of year, and any of them can be a private session whenever you want it.

  • autumn

Pumpkin and harvest pieces, warm palettes, and the mosaics and stencilled trays that come back out every autumn.

  • winter

Festive decorations, gifts made by hand, and candles and body butter for the months where both get used.

  • spring

Lighter colours, floral and botanical shapes, and the shower and celebration bookings that cluster here.

  • summer

Group bookings, outdoor-friendly activities, and the sessions that travel to a cottage or a back garden.

Seasonal questions

Every answer is in the page whether the row is open or not, so a search engine can read it.

Do you run pumpkin painting?

Autumn projects are the busiest part of the year here, and pumpkin and harvest pieces are the ones most often asked for. They run as public dates when there are dates, and as a private session any week in September and October.

Can we book a festive workshop for our team?

Yes, and December books up first, so earlier is better than it sounds. A team session runs at your office or at a room arranged for you, anywhere in the Halifax region, and everybody leaves with the thing they made.

Is a seasonal workshop different from a normal one?

Same table, same two hours, same teaching from the beginning. What changes is the piece: the shape it is made on, the colours on the table and, for candles and body butter, the scent.

How far ahead should we book?

For autumn, a few weeks. For December, longer: materials are bought for the group and the good dates go first. Send the week you are thinking of even if the day is not fixed.

Can we choose the theme?

For a private group, yes. Say the occasion and roughly the look you want and the materials are chosen for it before anybody arrives.

Do you do these for kids?

For a private group, with an adult at the table and the age said when you book so the activity and the materials suit it. The public dates are written for adults.
