Mosaic is three decisions repeated: cut, place, set. You work a small surface, a tray or a panel or a coaster set, and the shape of it comes from what you choose to leave between the pieces.
It is the most forgiving thing on the table for anybody who thinks they cannot draw, because nothing here is drawn.

What is a mosaic workshop actually like?
You pick a surface, sort through the glass and tile, and start placing. Most of the two hours is spent deciding rather than working, which is the part people are surprised by. The grout goes on at the end and that is the ten minutes everybody enjoys most.
Do I need to cut the tile myself?
Only if you want to. Nippers are on the table and you are shown how to use them, but there is enough already broken to build a whole piece without cutting anything.
Is it sharp?
Glass and tile edges are blunt rather than knife-sharp once they are nipped, and you work over a tray. It is a two-hour workshop, not a workshop floor, and nobody has needed more than a plaster.
Can children do it?
For a private group, yes, with an adult at the table and the age said up front so the materials are chosen for it. The public dates are written for adults.
Do I take it home the same day?
Yes. The grout sets enough in the session to carry it. Leave it a day before it goes anywhere wet.
What can I make?
A tray, a panel to hang, a set of coasters, or a house number. Say which when you book and the base is ready when you sit down.
