Do I take the piece home the same day?
No, and this is the one activity here where that is true. Epoxy cures over a day or more and a piece knocked while it is curing has to start again. It is either collected afterwards or dropped back to you.
Is it safe to work with?
The resin used in a workshop is low odour and mixed in small quantities, gloves are on the table, and the room is ventilated. Say beforehand if you are pregnant or have a skin sensitivity and you will be told plainly whether to sit this one out.
What do I actually make?
A surface: a board, a coaster set, a small tray. The interest is in the pour rather than the object, so the base is deliberately simple.
Can I choose the colours?
Yes, and how they meet is the decision that matters. Two colours poured together do something neither one does alone, and you get to see that before you commit the piece.
Do I need any experience?
No. It is taught from the beginning, and resin is unusually kind to a first attempt because the material does most of the finishing.
Is it good for a group?
Yes, with the collection sorted in advance. It is worth saying up front that nobody walks out holding their piece, because for a birthday that can matter.
